Bangladesh 150 (Mushfiqur 28, Kuldeep 5-40, Siraj 3-20) trail India 404 by 254 runs

Kuldeep Yadav completed his third five-wicket haul in his eighth Test as India bowled out Bangladesh for 150 on the third morning of the first Test in Chattogram.

Resuming the day on 133 for 8, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Ebadot Hossain kept India at bay for another 28 balls before Kuldeep ended their 42-run association by having Ebadot caught behind down the leg side.

Mehidy tried to farm the strike even more after that while trying for an odd big hit in between. He and Khaled Ahmed batted for seven overs, seeing out a spell from Mohammed Siraj.

KL Rahul then brought on Axar Patel, who found sharp turn straightaway. With his second ball, he beat Khaled’s outside edge and hit him on the back leg. India opted to review the on-field not-out call but the replay showed the impact and stumps were both umpire’s call. On the last ball of the same over, the umpire gave Khaled lbw but this time the batter got the decision overturned as there was an inside edge involved.

Axar wasn’t to be denied for long, though. In his next over, Mehidy skipped down the track to him but missed the ball completely, offering Rishabh Pant an easy stumping.

Despite a lead of 254, India opted against enforcing the follow-on.
